At its best, mentorship provides the personal and professional foundation for lifelong career achievement and scientific discovery.
The Department of Medicine Mentorship Committee’s mission is to improve the quality and consistency of mentorship in the Department of Medicine and to educate all faculty about the value and conduct of mentorship.
The committee leads initiatives to improve the quality of mentoring relationships. They also select the recipients of the annual William J. Bremner Endowed Mentorship awards.
Mentoring is a key element in academic success and can take many forms, both formal and informal. The Department of Medicine has a strong commitment to and culture of mentoring.
Our goal is to provide a mentor for every junior faculty member.
How do I get a mentor?
