Data and analytics
Research Collaboratory
The Allergy & Infectious Diseases and Department of Medicine Research Collaboratory (ARC) has three core aims that encapsulate our mission:
- To advance knowledge that optimizes how we care for our patients, using data analytics.
- To leverage the power of electronic health record (EHR) and understand how to use these data wisely.
- To foster a learning health system that trains junior investigators to harness these data into actionable insights.
Research Dashboard
The Department of Medicine research dashboard provides visual representation and summative data on research grants proposals and awards submitted and obtained by faculty within the UW Department of Medicine. The data can be visualized by individual PIs, divisions or the entire department.
(NOTE: UW Net ID required to access both the dashboard and intranet. VPN required for remote/non-UW internet connections.)

Diversity in Clinical Trials
The Diversity in Clinical Trials Initiative aims to enhance the representation of historically underrepresented communities among clinical study participants. It ensures that medical treatments and interventions are effectively studied across diverse populations, leading to more equitable healthcare outcomes for all individuals and better medicine.
The University of Washington is taking this opportunity to review and revise our clinical trial policies with deeper and more comprehensive diversity criteria to usher in a new era of inclusive medical research.
Supplemental Funding
DOM Emergency Supplemental Funding
This one-year pilot program is in response to significant shifts in the research landscape in 2025. The goal of the program is to provide temporary support for faculty salary and benefits for those whose funding has been terminated due to new federal funding policies. The program's continuation will be subject to ongoing evaluation and may be modified or terminated as deemed necessary.
2026 School of Medicine Bridge Funding
For fiscal year 2026, the School of Medicine will offer an interim competitive bridge funding opportunity to eligible researchers with the goal to span temporary funding gaps in critical research programs.
The Office of Research and Graduate Education will receive applications and administer a committee to review and select awardees.
Maximum of $50,000 can be provided by the school per application, must be matched 1:1 by the applicant’s primary unit within the School of Medicine (department, division, center or institute). Up to 5 applications will be awarded. Departments and units should not expect to receive more than one award per unit. Application deadline: Nov. 13, 2025.
