About the Service

The Department provides access to BioRender, a software-as-service tool, with a limited number of seats available.

Priority for access

  • Faculty with primary or joint appointments in the DOM
  • Post docs with primary appointment in the DOM
  • Senior research staff who frequently create diagrams for proposals, posters, or publications
  • Other trainees with primary appointments in the DOM

Access Management

To ensure seats are available for those with active needs, we manage access as follows:

  • Seats that remain inactive (unused for 6+ months) may be reassigned to accommodate new requests
  • When demand exceeds available seats, the longest-unused seats will be removed first

How to Request Access

  • If a seat is available, you'll be added to the license
  • If seats are full, we'll evaluate whether we can create space by removing an inactive user
  • You'll be notified of the outcome either way

If You Have a Seat

  • Activate your seat promptly after receiving access
  • If you no longer need your seat, please let us know so it can be reassigned
  • Unused seats (6+ months of inactivity) may be removed to accommodate others

Current License Status

Our current BioRender license runs through Fall 2026. Future renewals or expansions will depend on available budget.
