About the Service
The Department provides access to BioRender, a software-as-service tool, with a limited number of seats available.
Priority for access
- Faculty with primary or joint appointments in the DOM
- Post docs with primary appointment in the DOM
- Senior research staff who frequently create diagrams for proposals, posters, or publications
- Other trainees with primary appointments in the DOM
Access Management
To ensure seats are available for those with active needs, we manage access as follows:
- Seats that remain inactive (unused for 6+ months) may be reassigned to accommodate new requests
- When demand exceeds available seats, the longest-unused seats will be removed first
How to Request Access
- If a seat is available, you'll be added to the license
- If seats are full, we'll evaluate whether we can create space by removing an inactive user
- You'll be notified of the outcome either way
If You Have a Seat
- Activate your seat promptly after receiving access
- If you no longer need your seat, please let us know so it can be reassigned
- Unused seats (6+ months of inactivity) may be removed to accommodate others
Current License Status
Our current BioRender license runs through Fall 2026. Future renewals or expansions will depend on available budget.
