Overview
The Chair of Medicine Scholar Awards were created to assist highly qualified and meritorious trainees in their transition to the roles of physician-scientist and principal investigator. These awards are intended to demonstrate significant departmental/institutional commitment to awardees at NIH study sections and other funding organizations.
The Department of Medicine encourages nominations of individuals from groups currently underrepresented in medicine.
Each award offers $50,000 per year for two years in salary support to facilitate the transition to appointment as a junior faculty member.
