Overview
We offer a variety of fellowship training opportunities in our 11 subspecialty divisions. These provide challenging experiences in research, clinical medicine, and teaching under the guidance of dedicated training faculty in the full range of clinical and laboratory settings.
What is a fellowship?
A fellowship is a period of medical training that a physician may undertake after completing a specialty training program (residency). During this time (usually more than one year), the physician is known as a fellow.
ACGME Fellowship:
Medical education training recognized by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the body responsible for accrediting the majority of subspecialty fellowships following ACGME residency training.
Non-ACGME Fellowship:
Medical education training that occurs without ACGME recognition. Accreditation may or may not be available through a specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or a specialty society.
