Reconnect, with birds!

Birds

Join your colleagues for a morning of birding in the Union Bay Natural Area! Led by experienced birders, the UW DOM Reconnection birding group facilitates connection and supports the well-being of members of the Department. Outings are also open to students, staff and faculty in the School of Medicine more broadly, so bring your friends!

The Union Bay Natural Area (UBNA), adjacent to the UW campus, is a premier birding hotspot in King County, with over 250 species identified there. The UBNA offers great birding year-round, with the kinds of birds varying by season. Birding is a slow-paced activity that allows ample time for group members to get to know each other. Birding has proven to be an excellent activity for stress reduction and facilitating mindful practice.Bird outing reconnection group
