The Union Bay Natural Area (UBNA), adjacent to the UW campus, is a premier birding hotspot in King County, with over 250 species identified there. The UBNA offers great birding year-round, with the kinds of birds varying by season. Birding is a slow-paced activity that allows ample time for group members to get to know each other. Birding has proven to be an excellent activity for stress reduction and facilitating mindful practice.

The group meets at 9am on the second Saturday of each month in the east parking lot of the UW Center for Urban Horticulture. No registration necessary. People with all levels of experience are welcome, from the simply bird-curious to seasoned birders. Binoculars are available for those who do not have their own.
