Biography

On August 1, 2018, Dr. Virginia Broudy, Scripps Endowed Professor of Hematology, became the Interim Chair of the Department of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from UC San Francisco and completed her internship, residency and fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University. She came to the UW Department of Medicine in 1985 as a senior fellow.

She was Chief of Medicine at Harborview Medical Center and Vice Chair in the Department of Medicine from 2002-2018.

Among her numerous achievements, she has been awarded the Paul Beeson Award and the Marvin Turck Award for excellence in clinical care and teaching.
