Health Sciences Risk Management is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and carrying out programs to control the clinical risks associated with patient care services to which the University is exposed. 

They manage patient complaints regarding patient harm and coordinate with the Office of Risk Management as necessary regarding medical or dental professional liability claims and lawsuits. 

They serve UW Medicine facilities (including UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Hall Health, UWPN Neighborhood Clinics and Sports Medicine), and the health sciences schools, and have offices in the Health Sciences Center and at Harborview Medical Center in the Patricia Bracelin Steel Building.

  • Identification and Management of Clinical Risks in coordination with Quality Improvement staff
